The Chapel community joins with member Winterflower Robinson in sharing our love and support as she grieves and honors the memory of her husband of 28 years, Russell Robinson, who made his transition to nonphysical on Sunday, August 16th. You can learn more about Russell in the obituary here, including his honorable service as an Army paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, his later life as an accountant, and becoming an avid coin collector.
Winterflower shared that "Russell was a fun, loving, joking, laughing man, and I’m sure they’re having a wonderful celebration where his spirit is setting around a table just enjoying himself, with all the loved ones that preceded him."
Winterflower, we continue to share our love and supportive energy with you during this time, and onward. While most of us did not have the privilege of meeting Russell, we join you in remembering and honoring his life, service, and legacy.
Winterflower shared these words online on Friday, August 21st (shared here with her permission):
"My watch is over. My husband, my friend, my love, transitioned Sunday, August 16, 2026. I looked upon his face for the last time this afternoon. I will miss him immensely, I will mourn his physical body, not being able to touch him, and not being able to hear his voice, joke around with him. Hold his hand.
"He struggled with his disease, and now he’s at peace. He was an 82nd Airborne paratrooper. He ran track and field and won medals and so much more. He loved life. He is no longer trapped in the restrictions of his mind and his body.
"I have been truly blessed to have spent almost 29 years with this marvelous, amazing man. The physical may be over, the body weakened and died. His spirit, his energy is never ending. It’s eternal. I get comfort in that, I get joy in that, I get peace in that. It is not goodbye my love, I will communicate with you on a different dimension, in a different universe.
"Today would’ve been your 85th birthday. I know you are celebrating, you are whole, you are free. You are in my heart, and in my soul. Thank you for being you, and being a part of my life."
