Bernadine Teague, the owner of the Williams Building where the Chapel is currently located, passed away in March. We enjoyed a long 35-year relationship with Ms. Teague but our future in the building is uncertain at this time. Members of both boards have been in contact with her heirs and business manager but it is important for us to plan ahead and be ready for the future.
The Board of Directors has commenced a review to determine space needs for the Chapel and to search for possible new locations—both on a temporary basis and permanent. We have also established a Relocation Fund with the initial goal of acquiring $5,000 within the next 12 months commencing June 1, 2023. The fund is intended to cover any costs associated with moving and or putting some or all of the Chapel’s property in storage, hopefully only on a temporary basis. To facilitate this goal, the board is requesting that anyone who is able to do so, please pledge $15 each month for the next 12 months. An anonymous donor already matched our first $1,000. Thank you in advance for your generosity—we appreciate your support! |
