During this presentation, Beth Yates will be certified as a novitiate minister and will be presented a Novitiate Ordination Certificate from our Mother Church, the Church of Enlightenment.
This is both a calling and goal that Beth has poured much love and energy toward achieving, and her desire has been demonstrated by her active participation in Chapel programs, events, and functions. Beth has been a regular Chapel speaker since her first lecture on July 28, 2024, and since then has served as presider, message bearer, and regular reader at our Psychic Fairs. She has co-facilitated a message circle, facilitated meditative processes and training during Homecoming 2025, became an approved Chapel Spiritual Healer, and serves on the Benevolent and Relocation committees in addition to being a Director at Large on our Board of Directors.
Beth arrives at this Novitiate Ordination with decades of spiritual formation behind her. For thirty years she served the Memorial Spiritualist Church as a greeter, choir member, chapel healer, presider, speaker, and message bearer, later becoming a Lyceum teacher and serving on their church board. In the early 1990s she was elected NSAC Superintendent for the Bureau of Lyceums, where she helped grow Lyceum programs for children and adults across the organization. She went on to earn certification as a Certified Medium and receive Ministerial Ordination through Delphi University of Spiritual Studies, alongside training in Healing Touch and the Ro-Hun Transpersonal Healing Program. She has completed training in dowsing, and holds certifications as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Master Hypnotherapist, and Life Between Lives Hypnotherapist through the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists, where she has also served on the Board and Education Committee.
Beth describes her path to the Chapel as a calling she's answered throughout her lifetime. She first visited in 2024, after being invited by Susan Bauer, and found in it something she had been searching for: a sense of ease, love, and acceptance. Beth often says it was not one message or class that brought her here — it was a quiet knowing, one that finally became clear one morning as she sat in her car outside the Chapel and heard, "I want you here." She applied for membership that same day. It is fitting, then, that Beth's own first-grade teacher once wrote to her parents, "Beth shares what she's learned with her classmates" — a description that has held true for her entire life, and one the Chapel now has the privilege of witnessing firsthand.
Beth's dedication has already strengthened the Chapel's ministry of teaching, healing, and pastoral care, and her continued service reflects the welcoming, supportive community that drew her back to the Chapel.
