What's a "Healing Circle"?

I"ll never forget my first Healing Circle experience at the Chapel.
It was many years ago, and my first time attending an event like that. I didn't have any experience with energy healing, Reiki, or other healing modalities.
I'd been meditating for a while and attending Chapel services, but had no idea what to expect.
I remember walking into the sanctuary with the chairs set up in a circle, each person finding a seat as they came in. There was also one chair set up at the center of the circle.
To be honest, I don't remember exactly what the first parts of the experience were like—I know Reva facilitated a a meditation at the beginning, to help us all tap into and amplify healing energy.
In a space like the Chapel, sitting among a circle of powerful metaphysicians and healers, the energy we created together was powerful and palpable.
At some point, once we'd established the healing energy, individuals would get up and move from their seat around the circle into the chair at the center of the circle.
Those of us making up the rest of the circle would continue to focus on sharing the healing energy flowing to and through us from Source, amplifying the healing being shared with the person in the chair.
Each person would sit there for as long as they desired, getting up and moving back to their original seat when they felt complete.
I remember when I took my turn; I got up and moved toward the chair in the center.
I don't know if I had any expectation...
...but I do remember feeling the powerful influx of healing energy once I sat in that chair. As palpable and powerful as it was before, sitting around the edges of the circle, it was even more prominent and focused at the center. I was surprised by the even more positive, healing shift in the energy there.
I sat there, allowing myself to receive the healing energy.
And after a couple of minutes, I don't really know how I knew, but I just understood that my time there was complete. I said 'thank you,' got up, and returned to my seat.
It was such a powerful, energetically aligning experience. I felt better, more alive, more ... love.
And I know everyone's experience is different, nuanced, supportive in unique ways.
The Chapel's monthly Healing Circles have remained virtual-only since 2020, and I think it's been a pleasant surprise to so many of us, just how powerful the virtual healing circles continue to be, as well.
Have you ever attended a healing circle? In-person or online? What's your experience been like?

What can I expect in a Virtual Healing Circle?
I'll be stepping up to fill in for Ms. Reva this evening (7/15/26), and here's what you can expect:
6:45 P.M. - Zoom opens
log in, check your audio, say hello in the chat (or with your voice)
please ensure your name is correct (it's no fun to have a conversation with "iPhone"...)
7:00 P.M.
Guided Meditation
Each person will be called upon, for their turn to step into the (virtual) "center" of the Circle.
Please unmute and say “Yes, I'd like to receive healing. My name is ________ (share your name)." (You can also type into the chat if you have any microphone issues.)
The Circle will share healing energy with you at the "center."
When you feel complete, (unmute and) say “thank you” and let us know you’re complete.
The facilitator will acknowledge, call on the next person, and repeat the process.
Once complete with all those present, the facilitator will read the names of all those currently on the Chapel’s Healing Tree as we share healing energy with those individuals as if they're also in the center of the circle.
You'll be invited to share any additional names in the chat or speak them aloud during this time as well, sharing healing energy with those in your life who have requested healing support.
We’ll re-ground at the end and open up for sharing or discussion (optional).
Our Healing Circle (like all our regular evening events), is advertised from 6:45pm - 9:00pm. If the Healing Circle is a larger group, it may go until 9pm. If it's a smaller group, we may finish between 8-8:30pm.
