Are you a talented psychic, medium, or intuitive reader? We are currently accepting applications for new readers for our Monthly Psychic Fair Fund Raiser.
This article outlines–
A.) The Process for becoming an approved reader at our Psychic Fairs B.) An introduction to what we look for in our Psychic Fair Readers, and some of the “Do”s and “Don’t”s for giving a reading at the Chapel’s Psychic Fair.

The Process
The process for becoming a reader at The Metaphysical Chapel of Life Psychic Fairs is quite simple:
1. Make a request to the Board of Directors to become a reader. You can email us at chapeloflife@gmail.com, sharing your interest in becoming a psychic fair reader, including:
why you’d like to serve in this capacity,
what kind of readings you give, and
include the items and information in number two (2) below. If you do not yet have any of the items in number 2, that’s okay—we each walk this path differently; just state that you do not, and we can move to step 3.
2. Training certificates or recommendations. If you have them, provide a copy of documentation of training in modalities associated with performing psychic, intuitive, mediumship, or related readings. This may include:
copies of certificates
recommendations from teachers
recommendations from persons to whom you have given readings.
3. Give a presentation reading to three board members (Directors and/or Ministers).
This can be accomplished by attending an upcoming psychic fair and giving readings to three board members at the fair. There are usually three or more board members at the fair which makes it easy to accomplish all three readings in one day.
If you are not local to the Chapel and would like to be considered for providing virtual readings, we can set that up as well. Virtual readers are required to use their own platform, so we'll want to schedule readings with board members on the platform you intend to use. Free Zoom accounts allow for individual meetings of up to 40 minutes—plenty of time for one (15-minute) reading, or two (30 mins) if someone signs up for two readings with you, back-to-back.
4. Recommendations to the Board + Vote. The board members who receive readings will complete evaluation forms, and then convene to discuss their recommendations to the full board as to your application. The Board then votes as to whether to approve your application.
The three board members receiving readings may recommend:
Approval to serve as an Apprentice Reader at our Psychic Fairs. Apprentice Readers are earlier on in their intuitive development, or in providing readings in a "psychic fair" environment like ours, and completing ongoing training and practice. They may provide free (no charge / donation) readings at our Psychic Fairs, in exchange for completion of a feedback form. When the apprentice feels ready, they may offer additional readings to three board members again, to seek approval as a Reader.
Approval to serve as a Reader at our Psychic Fairs. Our Readers are booked in 15-minute increments for a suggested donation of $25 to the Chapel.
Disapproval. Sometimes, an individual may not yet be a good fit to serve as a reader for our Psychic Fairs.
5. After the approval process is complete you will be sent a notice of confirmation.6. Reader provides a photo and bio for our Psychic Fair page, newsletter, and to post on the wall during our in-person Fair. Once approval is given the only thing needed from you is a short Reader bio and a photo for the Psychic Fair Newsletter notice and website. You can see examples at the link above.
This makes all of this an easy process, as most of us enjoy receiving readings from someone new!
What do we look for in our Psychic Fair Readers?
Here are a few things we want our Readers to understand and practice—feel free to email us for a copy of our full Psychic Fair Policy, or talk with one of our Ministers or Board Members for more information.
The modern world, stuck in its materialism, needs good, spiritual psychics more than ever. While for some it may look easy to do—for example, buy a set of Tarot cards, learn the meanings, and start giving messages or readings—you must be sincere about what you do and continually cultivate your authentic connection with Spirit.
The following things are a “must” for using psychic skills:
regular meditation practice
tuning in to vibration
using your psychic intuition, differentiating from the "ego" mind
continuing to study and learn
Be sure you are able to cope with problems that can turn up with people. Everyone’s problem will not be simple and easy to handle. Nor will it always be simple and easy to solve. For example, do you know how would you handle the following situations?
What would you say to someone who knew they were suffering from a terminal illness?
How would you comfort someone who is severely bereaved?
How would you handle a situation in which, partway through, you realized or believed that your sitter may be suffering from a severe psychiatric problem?
How would you stop a sitter from pestering you if they became infatuated with you?
How would you handle a sitter who was seriously contemplating suicide? What would you do?
The “Do”s
Always begin each period of readings with your own meditation. You cannot give a valid reading to another if you are enmeshed in your own problems.
Be honest. Give what you get, as honestly as possible. Do not allow your ego to get in the way.
Instill optimism. Endeavor to see beyond bad events to better times. Help the sitter realize the power of positive thinking and conscious co-creation with Source.
Stress Each Individual’s Free Will. If your reading inhibits a person’s spiritual growth, it is worthless. Clients may remember things they’ve been told for the rest of their lives.
Give Evidence. Try to give quantifiable facts about the sitter’s life or those they know in spirit. Don’t talk just about ‘wooly’ future events.
Cultivate spiritual values. Make your daily lift part of your psychic work. Develop good spiritual habits and energetic hygiene.
Be good humored. Try to spread a little happiness with your psychic work. Elevating our vibration supports intuitive clarity.
Improve yourself. Psychic development is a lifelong process. Like an artist that’s never really satisfied with their latest painting. Always try to improve on the quality of your evidence.
Never be smug. Keep pushing yourself — to progress, to be the best you can be. There is always room for growth and development.
The “Don’t”s
Don’t predict a death. A genuine psychic will know that this is impossible. It is not something that we have clairvoyant access to.
Don’t play doctor. Under no circumstances suggest someone should go against their doctor’s advice or that you have the ability to do more than the doctor or medicine can.
Don’t be the “guru.” Stress that you are only an ordinary person—remember, "it's in every one of us!"—or the sitter may think that you’re the only person in the world that can solve their problems. (This can be part of transference.)
Do not make exaggerated claims. You cannot guarantee that you can use mediumship to communicate with the very person that they want to hear from in spirit. Nor can you guarantee to solve their problems.
Don’t embellish clairvoyance. Keep your evidence clear. If you dry up, stop the sitting. It does no good adding a load of junk from your own subconscious to the reading.
Don’t force yourself on people. Nothing is worse than an overeager psychic pushing clairvoyance onto someone who may not want to hear from their long-dead granddad! Our readings are based on consent from the sitter.
