Archangels and Spirit, lecture by Isabelle Aldridge

Opening Prayer
Good morning! And thank you for being here. Before I start, I would like to say a little prayer.
Infinite Spirit, Father, Mother God, Creator of the Universe, and all forms and expression that support the goodness of life. Thank you for the knowledge, the wisdom, and the love of all things that you have blessed us today. And encourage us to lead the way by being compassionate and loving to others. Amen.
Angels Across Faith Traditions
So, I'm pretty sure you've heard that before, because I think Sharon talked a little bit about it before, Reverend Sharon Flynn. Today… did you know that angels are a major force in every faith tradition, and probably one of the few things that all world religions have in common?
We have 7 major archangels, while the Islamic religion has 4. In the Jewish faith, Metatron is the greatest of all. So today, I would like to talk a little bit about angels, archangels, and spirits. It's really interesting because this did not come up until yesterday afternoon.
Angels are mentioned 300 times in the Bible. They can show up from the time of your conception, and stay with you for the rest of your life, until the day you meet the Lord. They guide you, they protect you, they nurture you. And the word angel means messenger.
The Archangels
We have several archangels.
The number one is Archangel Michael, who is passionate, and is the patron of protection and love. When you call upon Michael, it moves you into action when your life lacks vitality, excitement, and love, but also he protects you.
Several times in my life, I have faced death — from not my own, but from other people. And just about a week ago, before I get into my car, I always ask for protection from Michael and his mighty soldiers. And I ended up going to Richmond with a friend of mine, and as we're driving, in Henrico County, this car passed us really fast, almost hit the car that is in front of him. We were in the middle lane. And probably was going 90 miles an hour. And I told my friend, I said, this person is gonna create an accident. Not even a minute later. Boom.
Two cars on the other side of the highway. A truck and a car. My friend stopped. So, I talked to the young lady, she had just bought her car. Bleeding, chin bleeding, finger bleeding. The other one, a car stopped behind us, her family was across the street. Firefighter in his truck with his wife and two kids.
After 30 minutes, we went back on the road, and lo and behold, we see another car facing our way in the ditch. My friend's like, well, I give her my car, and I told her it was a white car. I said, no, it wasn't a white car, it was a blue car. So we keep going, and the blue car is right there, probably be trying to pass a trailer.
Fortunately, he had took a trailer and was looking at his car, came out and looked at the bumper. So, and he fled the scene, too. So, whenever I get into my car, I can chill my call. I love him. Always ask for protection.
And we knew — if you drive around, you see people on their cell phone. I've seen a woman putting her makeup on, people not… putting the signal on, so it's a dangerous world out there on the road. So if you want to switch careers, or want to travel alone somewhere, call upon Michael to protect and guide you.
Our number 2 archangel is Gabriel. He commands and governs your emotions. I may need to call upon him more than once. It's not easy to deal with people. He is associated with the element of water. He comes to your doubts and boosts your confidence.
Although I think he did this week. I have a project that I'm doing at Fort Eustis, and after so many weeks, and too many people getting in a… I don't know how you say it, in the pot. I finally got my flyer out. And two people responded to my project on drones at Fort Eustis. So, I was super excited, because I've never done something like this. This is huge for me. And my boss called me, she says, I am so happy for you. So I'm like, yeah, I didn't want to tell you, but I think somebody is around me.
Raphael is in charge of healing, overseeing his energy on every level — body, mind, and spirit. So if you need help, he can re-energize you on the physical level, and boost your creativity. That was him who helped me out with the project. I had no clue how to start it.
If you are writing a book, you can call upon him to keep your focus. I won't name anybody.
So, I'm gonna pronounce it in French, but I think you say Uriel, but I say Uriel. Vibration is grounded with the earth. He is a multi-tasker. He greets you at the gates of heaven, and he is the messenger that brings warning. And he's the patron of music.
Raguel makes sure that you behave. He is the police officer. I think a lot of people need him in this world, especially in Hampton Roads. So, if you want children to behave, you call upon him. And trust me, it works.
And you have Ariel, who keeps things in order. Remiel is the archangel of hope. He greets us at death's door, and escorts us to heaven.
Archangels encourage the development of your artistic talents, and have the power to jump-start your creativity into your higher expression. They move you to take risks, and share the energy of your gifts, whether you enjoy music, painting, dancing, acting, cooking, or anything else.
Archangels love to be called upon, because to serve you is to serve God. And you can invoke them by chanting their name, by using music.
Guardian Angels and Spirit Guides
And you have, you know, guardian angels, too. I write to my guardian angel, and I talk to my guardian angel, and at first, when I started doing this, I was like, is this me, or… who is it? And then, little by little, you know, I would ask a question, and the answer would come really fast. Yes, no. And there was time when, you know, I would ask something, and I would get a sentence. And I thought, okay, is this me answering me, or, you know…
So your guardian angel and your archangels are always there. And what I do, too, in the morning is I always say, good morning, archangels, good morning, guardian angels, good morning, spirits. They love to be acknowledged.
There's a big difference — well, there's not a big difference, but there are similarities between spirit guides and angels, so… angels have never been on Earth. They've never been earthbound, let me say that, because some of them do come down. Where spirit guides may have been somebody in, you know, that you knew once. Could be a family member, could be a friend, could be your neighbor.
So, they know our trials, our challenges, so this is when, you know, we read, and we give you a message. Sometimes people will come in, and will use us… has adored to give out the message, so they know exactly what you're going through and what you're feeling, because they feel it still. When I do read people, sometimes, you know, I feel the spirit, I feel what they feel, so it's in my body, it's in my heart.
Angels serve us around the clock, where our spirit guides cannot help us unless we ask. We asked for permission. So when you do a reading, you just don't say, oh, I'm just gonna read. You ask permission, you always ask, you know, may the spirit in me meet the spirit, and you allow me, you know, to be the open door to this message.
Angels have a higher vibration than guides, since they are so close to God. They are very easy to connect to. They may protect, inspire, energize us, and empower us, while they may influence our conscious. They do not necessarily offer direct advice or instruction, but spirit guides can.
And like I said, spirit guides might connect through you because they face the same challenges, the same trials. And they want to guide us, to ease our pain, even though sometimes it's very difficult to ease your pain when you know you've lost someone in your life.
And some of them want to help you, because in a past life, they were masters. Sometimes I'll be fixing something in a house, and I just come to a point, I was like, I just don't know how to do it, and I just walk away, and I ask my spirit guide, I need a master in plumbing, or I need a master, you know, and I pray, and then an answer will come through. And you're like, oh, I didn't know if you can buy that one.
You have the right to ask for the highest guides. So the one thing I always say when I need help, I always ask for the highest guide that walks in the light of God. And sometimes you have funny guides. I mean, they come through, and you're like, seriously? Some spirit guides are better than others. Like I said, some are funny.
And in order, sometimes, to get those guys to… you can meditate, and they will talk to you.
A Story of Loss and Guidance
I love my guides, and I love my archangels and angels, and I can tell you that they've… I've been blessed over the years. I've been protected. When I was a young girl, well, a young girl… my dad had to take me to the bus station, to the train station, because my high school was about an hour away. It was a special high school, and it was a boarding school. And my dad had cancer.
So, you know, chemo and radiation really affect you. And I don't know how many times I thought we were gonna die. I remember, in Europe we have roundabouts, so, Germany, France, and I remember one time he was taking me to the train station. And we just… I don't know what happened, we just ended up going over the roundabout. And my dad pulled over, somebody pulled over, I remember that, and I don't remember the rest.
And I cannot drive on 64. I have anxiety, my blood pressure goes up, I'm holding on to the doors, and I kept telling my friend the other day, maybe we need to take 60, maybe we need to take 60. And, he's a retired colonel who lived in Italy, so I don't know if you've ever been to Italy, but they're not the safest drivers. So, I mean, if there's a sidewalk and they can drive on it, let's go for it. And so, you know, he loves talking and loves using his hands, and while he's doing this and driving, and it's dark at night, you hear beep. And I'm like, I said, you know, you can see the car going on the line, and I'm like, please, God, just, if he's gonna be, just let it be just on the right, because there's nobody. And so, after that, the beeping was on the right, not on the left. And by the time I got home, I was like, oh, God, thank you very much. I am so anxious, so… I don't mind driving, but, you know, I'll take my sweet time.
So, there are so many instances where, you know, I've been blessed. We're being helped by angels and archangels, and you know, sometimes I hear people say, I don't believe in angels, I don't believe in archangels, and I'm like, ugh, you have no clue what you're losing, because truly, truly, it's amazing.
It's, it's kind of… I'm gonna try not to cry. I was 23 years old when my dad died. And I remember he was on the first floor, my mom was on the second floor, because my mom had MS, and my best friend was a nurse on the third floor. And I went to see my dad, and at the time, I wasn't married, so my ex-husband had given him an SR71 that he had on his nightstand. And I remember going there, to say hello, and my dad did not recognize me. He's like, who are you?
And so I called the nurse, and there's… I know the nurse didn't want to say anything, so there was a chapel. So I went to the chapel, and I prayed, and I told the Lord, I said, God, I said, he doesn't deserve to suffer. My dad grew up during World War II. He did the Vietnam War, the Algerian War. Needless to say, Vietnam was bad, but Algeria was worse. Had PTSD. And of course, in some cases, you become an alcoholic, too. Did that change my mind about my dad? No, I loved him. You know, we never said I love you to each other, but I knew, deep down, my dad loved me, and I was his favorite, because I was the girl.
In the morning, around 2 o'clock in the morning, they told my mom he had passed away, and the phone call came in at 6 o'clock in the morning. And I just knew.
It carried me over the years. I didn't know that his loss had affected my life for so many years. And, until I took a religious class, well, humanities class, and my professor said, I'm probably gonna go to hell because I'm a Catholic, but I'm liberal. And so he opened my mind. And at one point, I became a Mormon for 2 years. And I started to suffocate, and I just don't know or had… I don't remember how I got to here.
And I came here, and I felt so much love. So much love, and I remember Bill was standing here, talking, and suddenly there was a film in front of my eyes, and the room was filled with spirits.
And I just knew, I'm like, this is where I've been. So, even though I lost my dad, now he comes through. And because I'm French, when I'm very stressed or suffocating… I'm suffocating, he will come through with French music.
And so, I had a job one time at Fort Eustis, and the person I was working for was crazy. And it was every day he was eating me alive, and I was like, I can't, I can't deal with it. You know, and I was contemplating suicide at one point. And I'm like, and I'm sitting at a desk, and suddenly a song comes in, and my dad tells me, it's almost over, you're moving on. And so I just immediately felt better, and within 2 weeks, I found out I had another job, and I was so happy to leave, so happy.
So, our spirit guides, our guardian angels, and archangels are always around us. And sometimes it may seem hard to believe, because we are in so much pain. They're still with us. They're still with us.
And I know it is not easy, because it took me over 20 years to ease my pain, and it's never easy to say to somebody, you'll get over it. No, you don't get over it, because my dad's anniversary is the 20th of November. His birthday is the 19th of May. My mom passed away on the 31st of December, New Year's Eve. Her birthday is the 29th of March, and my granddaughter's birthday is the 19th of March. So, you know, those dates, yeah, you might be fine all year long, but those dates will always be with you. Always.
But instead of grieving, I celebrate them, and I tell them how much I love them, so… but you're not alone. You're definitely not alone. If you don't have your guardian angels, your spirits, and your archangels, you do have angels here to help you out.

Some comfort in knowing that you have people watching over you, and you're never alone. They're always with you.
