Connecting with Your Spirit Guide – A Guided Shamanic Journey

facilitated by Sue Jarek and Shayla Spencer

Join us for an experiential evening exploring the concept of spirit guides through discussion, guided meditation, and live drumming. Together we’ll explore how different traditions understand spirit guides, share personal experiences, and participate in a guided shamanic journey designed to encourage personal reflection and inner exploration. Following the journey, participants will have time to draw or write about their experience and, if they wish, share their insights with the group. Whether you’re new to the topic or have explored spirit guides before, all are welcome. No previous experience is necessary.

About our Facilitators

Sue Jarek is the creator of SourceLine, her original body of work centered on direct, presence-based insight. Through SourceLine, she helps people move beyond the surface story to recognize the deeper patterns shaping their lives, fostering greater clarity, self-understanding, and the embodiment of their untapped potential.

Her work reflects a longstanding exploration of consciousness, intuition, and personal transformation, along with a passion for creating opportunities for people to deepen their understanding of themselves through direct experience.

Sue is also the founder of Empowerment Exchange, a community dedicated to learning, practice, and personal growth, and co-host of Living With Presence, an online series exploring consciousness, intuition, and the art of living with greater presence.

Her background includes training as a Reiki Master, Advanced Meridian Energetics® Practitioner, Certified Medical Intuitive, Shamanic Practitioner, and Chapel Spiritual Healer. These experiences continue to inform her work while supporting the practical, experiential approach she brings to teaching today.

Through classes, guided experiential exercises, and thoughtful discussion, Sue creates opportunities for participants to explore their own awareness, strengthen their intuition, and discover practical insights they can integrate into everyday life.

Shayla Spencer-Artis (Psychic Fair Reader Bio)

Namaste, light beings, my name is Shayla Spencer-Artis. I stepped into my gifts from birth but reawakened them in 2018 when I joined the Metaphysical Chapel of Life’s healing circle. I do phone and in person readings and have the gifts of clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance, and am also an empath. I enjoy practicing Reiki and using tuning forks. I teach a Relax with Reiki class in Portsmouth on a bi-weekly basis on Friday nights, and I also recently added a guided meditation and sage class to my roster.  I love promoting and speaking on holistic health and wellness. My ultimate goal and desire is to travel the world sharing Reiki and mindfulness with people across the globe. I want to influence change in all of humankind. My energy is very loving and kind, and can light up a room. 

I am a positive Pisces and mother to three amazing sons. I was born and raised in Portsmouth Virginia, where I am a current Business and Technology teacher at Waters Middle School. I earned my B.S. in Communications as well as my Masters in Education from Old Dominion University in 2019. Thank you in advance for the opportunity to support you!

Participants are taught through a variety of methods, to include book study, personal experiences of teachers and students, experiential exercises, stream of consciousness writing, numerology, meditation, visualization, intellect, etc. Participants are encouraged to trust their impressions and feelings.
